Missional communities (MC’s) are a vital part of the mission of Paradox Bible Church. This is where we gather in smaller groups throughout the city to live on mission for the glory of God and the good of others.
Our missional communities meet weekly and we are adding more as we grow as a new body of believers. In each group we share life together, study the Bible and serve in the community in which we live. Life is hard and we are all imperfect people, however the trials of life are easier to shoulder when you are not alone, this is why community is important. In our Missional Communities people learn to live out the Scriptures and live as the church.
There are four main functions of our missional communities : fellowship, prayer, study and mission.
Fellowship. Missional communities are designed to grow in authentic relationships. Communities function like a small family of sorts. There are many ways this fellowship is fostered within each group, the important thing is that each group is growing in fellowship together, being the church.
Prayer. Christians communicate with the Lord through prayer. It is absolutely essential that God’s people pray while in community. We pray prayers of thanksgiving. We pray requesting aid in our lives. We pray for the advancement of the gospel through our body and we pray for those who don’t know Jesus yet.
Study. Scripture is extremely important to us at Paradox. In the Bible we learn how we are to live as new creations for the glory of God. Furthermore, through our study of Scripture we are taught how to pattern our lives after the life of Jesus.
Mission. The church does not exist unto itself. We are made to glorify Jesus and to advance the gospel in our city. MC’s will dream about ways they can impact their communities for good so that others will see our good deeds and praise our Father in heaven.
