Jonah

INTRODUCTION:

Can a rebel serve God? Can God use someone who decides not to listen to Him for His purpose? Can you be used of God? Are you a rebel?

On April 10th we will begin a new seven week sermon series in the Old Testament book of Jonah. We move from helpful Pauline leadership wisdom to a rich and true story. Through our study we will seek to learn what it means to be rebels used by God.

What is interesting about this book is that rather than focusing on the message of the prophet (as most prophetic books do), it focuses on the prophet himself. We approach this book not as fiction but as historical truth. Though the book lists no author we believe it to be written by Jonah himself possibly as a form of repentance from his rebellion and resent towards God in his forgiveness of Nineveh.
